Well they are finally here!
Here’s my favorite shots from the weekend during the pageant. I’ll certainly do a follow-up post with a few outtakes and behind the scene photos of the girls.
Overall, the weekend went like this:
friday [july 27]
330am: arrive in savannah, ga.
331am:crash.
700am: wake up throw myself and husband {assistant} together and dream of starbucks.
835: arrive at hyatt in downtown savannah, valet park, search for starbucks.
840am: whew. found starbucks. order grande with extra shot. for me. and the hubbs.
850am: take a walk on river street, scouting out for photo opportunities. ask around. diminish coffee.
sunshine, glorious. i’m drenched. 96349 degrees.
915am: group swimsuit shots.
940am: individual shots. girls walk in HIGH heels on cobblestone. warn ‘gawkers.’ all is well. lots of help, amazing. we’re so hot we can hardly breathe. did i tell you we work 100% black?
no worries. i love my job.
1050am: finish up individual swimsuit shoots, run for water. gracious oyster bartender girl gave us water. with lemon. it was glorious. started walking to cool air because i couldn’t feel my feet.
1130am: its lunch time. head to moon river brewery. hello cool air, happy hubby, and hungry wife.
food is dynamite.
115pm: run back to valet, grab all lighting and photography equipment, setup and get excited!
3pm: girls interviews begin, business atire shoot begins.
540pm: pack up, faster than i know how, time to head to the telfair museum several blocks down.
610pm: setup, check scenery, test shots, run around like a crazy person.
730pm: costume pageant. amazing ideas from the girls. what a show!
930pm: headed to outback. exhausted but so excited! and beyond starving 
1230am: crash, hard work completed, day 1.
saturday [july 28]
9am: awake. wheres coffee?
1115: cram breakfast, arrive at the museum for practice.
1130am: shoot rehearsal. fun photo ops. cut up, just a little.
1pm: back to hotel, walk around the area. got some great lunch. walked around a bit. looked kind of like terrorist with our solid black outfits. its ok, we’re the photographers!
3pm: naptime. crash. no talking.
5pm: clothes change, grab another coffee and a snack. time for the real deal!
6pm: take bus over to the museum, check lights, test shots, breathe.
730pm: its go time, soon to find out the teen, miss, and mrs. all-star!
830pm: lots and lots of photos, great, sweet families, congrats girls!
11pm: dinner. please! i barely can stay awake to talk!
1am: crash.
sunday [july 29]
hubby deserves a treat for dealing with me!
take friends to breakfast.
shop downtown savannah. get in a TORRENCIAL downpour. like always…
head back to south carolina, and you guessed it. crashed!
an amazing, honorable, crazy awesome, opportunity i received photographing these girls and this pageant. i can’t wait until next year!
